Six granular and fourteen spray formulations were screened for their efficacy against major insect pests of rice at Warangal (A.P.). San 155 90 SP and Mocap 5G., were found promising against yellow stem borer, Scirpophaga incertulas Wlk. and leaf folder Cnaphalocrosis medinalis Guen. Acephate, Posse (FMC 3500) and Chlorpyriphos were effective for leaf folder, the dominating pest of the season. Isofenphos and Mocap were the only chemicals effective for rice gall midge, Orseolia oryzae (W. M.) Mani.
