Abstract

The responsive stages of rice plant growth to Sogatella damage were tillering and booting stages. Any insect build up of high or low densities reduced the length of the panicle and grain, grain weight and number of grains in ther spective stages. This study emphasized the need and importance of protecting the tillering and booting stages of the rice crop so as to avoid any smothening effects of the insect on the crop.
