Relative preference for the pigeonpea pods in different stages of their development, and for the medium developed pods of pigeonpea, lablab and gram by the first instar nymphs of c. gibbosa was detelmined. The medium developed pods of pigeonpea were most preferred. Development was also quickest and adult longevity highest on medium developed pods of pigeonpea. Development could also be completed on pods of lablab and gram but was much delayed, particularly on gram pods.
