Six dusts, four emulsifiable concentrates, two wettable powders and four synthetic pyrethroids were tested against Hrliothis armigera Hubner on chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) in Haryana. All the dusts were on par with synthetic pyrethroids and significantly superior over emulsifiable concentrate and wettable powder formulations during 1979–80 and 1980–81. Application of BHC dust and monocrotophos or cypermethrin spray were promising in reducing the pod borer damage and in increasing the grain yield.
