Abstract

The food composition as studied by the identification of stomach contents of the predomine-ntly occurring lesser bandicoot rat, Bandicota bengalensis and the Indian field mouse, Mus booduga in the fields around Tirupati showed 52% green vegetative matter belonging to different weeds, 13% grain of the crop, 4% animal remains and remaining stem, leaf, root and algal contents.
