Brodifacoum was evaluated in laboratory against Rattus meltada pallidior and Golunda ellioti gujerati. The acute oral LD50 values for these rodent species were found to be 0.60 mg/kg and 0.44 mg/kg respectively. The results of no-choice feeding trials revealed that 100% mortality in R. meltado is obtained after two days exposure at 0.005% and 0.002% concen-trations and after three days exposure at 0.002% and 0.001% concentrations to G. ellioti. Brodifacoum bait was signicantly less palatable than the plain bait. It is concluded that brodifacoum bait at 0.002–0.005% concentration is quite effective against them.
