Field Evaluation of Nuclear Polyhedrosis Virus Against Heliothis Armigera Hubner (Lepidoptera Noctuidae) In Gujarat
Abstract
Effectiveness of an indigenous nuclear polyhedrosis virus of Heliothis armigera Hubner was tested against H. armigera infesting tomato and chickepa at Anand Campus of Gujarat Agricultural University during 1980–81 and 1981–82. Results evealed that five sprays of NPV @ 250 L.E./ha/week gave satisfactory control of H. armigera. In chickpea an increase in the grain yield (28% and 47% over control) was observed due to five sprays of NPV.
