Field studies conducted during 1983–84 and 1984–85 at Meerut District (U.P.) on the bio-efficacy of insecticides against the aphid Myzus persicae revealed that fenvalerate (75g. ai/ha), triazophos (1000 g.ai/ha), dimethoate (1000 g ai/ha) and cypermethrin (70g.ai/ha) were effective in controlling the aphid upto 20 nays after spray during both the years. Least cost was achieved with cypermethrin followed by fenvalerate, permtamethrin, deltamethrin dimethoate, triazophos and methyl demeton.
