Abstract

Field experiments were conducted with different spray regimes at flowering, pod formation, pod filling and pod maturation stages of chickpea crop for controlling Heliothis armigera (Rb.) during 1980–81 and 1982–83 at Pantnagar (U.P.). The results revealed that two sprays of endosulfan @ 0.07% ai., (Q)600 litjha before pod initiation and pod maturation gave the best cost: benefit ratio of 1:19. When the crop was not protected from H. armigera, the loss in yield reached upto 80%.
