Abstract

Relative efficacy of synthetic pyrethroids was field evaluated for six seasons (1981–84) against Relativevarious efficacyinsect pest of rice. Although less effective than the standard check, among the pyrethroids cypermethrin and permethrin @ 100 g a.i./ha gave moderate control of stem borer at heading stage. All the pyrethroids showed effectiveness against leaf folder and rice hispa. However, none of the pyrethroids offered adequate protection against gall midge and whorl maggot.
