Abstract

Trials conducted at Rajgurunagar for protection of potatoes from Potato tubermoth in storage from 1981 to 1983 revealed that dipping of potato tubers for 2 minutes in the aqueous emulsions of 0 25% deltamethrin, 0 05% permethrin, 0 05% cypermethrin or 01% fenvalerate and drying them in shade before storing in the coun-try stores were very effective. Dusting entrimos 1% or 2% dust @ 125 gm/100 Kg potato tubers before storing was also effective. The insecticides did not seem to affect the sprouting, germination and apparent vigour of the plants.
