Cotton Research Project, Punjabrao Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola, Maharashtra.
A field trial was conducted to assess the avoidable field losses in yield of seed cotton due to sucking pests and boll worms for three years during 1980 to 1983 at Punjabrao Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola. The pooled results indicated that minimum losses were caused by sucking pests (4.6%), while maximum losses were caused by bollworms (51.3%). However, the total losses (52.9%) due to both the types of pests were more or less equal to the losses caused by bollworms only.
