Abstract

Studies carried out at Gujarat Agricultural University, Anand showed that brinjal (CV doli-5) transplanted in May was comparatively more damaged by shoot and fruit borer Leucinodes orbonalis Guen. than the crops transplanted in January, July, September and November. Among evironmental factors, low variation in minimum aqd maximum tempereatures, nigh relative humidity and good rain enhanced the population of this insect pest. Negative correlationship was found between damage and fruit yield.
