Abstract

During the kharif season of 1984 and 1985 the efficacy of seven insecticides viz., carbaryl plus molasses, phosphamidon, endosulfan, quinalphos, dimethoate, methyl demeton and monocrotophos was evaluated in the field against soybean leaf miner. Mono-crotophos (0.04%) followed by methyl demeton (0.03%) and dimethoate (0.3%) were relatively more effective than phosphamidon (0.03%) and carbaryl molasses (0.05%). of the 40 varieties screened for resistance, JS 73–22, JS 78–41, JS 71-5, JS 75–46 and JS-2 were less susceptible than JS 76–255, JS 76–245, JS 78–12 + 13, Macs-I3 and JS 76–27.
