Abstract

The persistence and degradation of endosulfan was studied on, brinjal and chickpea. The residues of stereoisomers of endosulfan viz., α and β and of the toxic metabolite endosulfan sulfate, which is formed on the plant after spray, were analysed by gas chromatography. The sprays were applied at 0.07% and 0.14%. The residues did not persist over MRL on the edible parts at the time of harvest.
