Abstract

Efficacy of four systemic insecticides was evaluated for two years for the control of Henosepilachna ocellata Redt. on potato at Shimla. Phorate, aldicarb, disulfoton and catbofuran applied @ 1.5 and 2.0 kg a.i./ha in two protocols viz. (i) full dose at planting and (ii) half dose at planting and remaining half at earthing up protected the potato crop from H. ocellata. No additional application of insecticides would be requir-ed, until and unless the pest appears in a serious form at a later stage. Granules applied in split doses were more effective compared to a single application at planting.
