Abstract

Thirteen insecticides were tested against pigeonpea pod borers viz., Heliothis armigera Hub., Exelastis atomosa W., Lampides boeticus L. and Melanagromyza obtus a Mall. at N.D. University of Agriculture and Technology Narendranagar, Faizabad during 1982–83 and 1983–84. Monocrotophos and cypermethrin treated plots gave significantly better results than other chemicals. Cypermethrin and permethrin proved better than other chemicals for the control of lepideptraq borers. Deltamethrin, cypermethrin and permethrin treated plots produced significantly higher yield than others. Highest cost benefit ratio (1:15.3) was obtained in the phosalone treated plots.
