The studies were carried out at R.S. Pura, Jammu, during 1984–85 and 1985–86 rabi seasons. A single application of aldicarb IOG @ 10kg/ha at flower initiation for the control of mustard aphid, Lipaphis erysimi (Kalt.) resulted in a net profit of Rs. 1514 followed by Rs. 1355 with granule application and one spray of oxydemeton-methyl respectively and Rs. 1203. with three sprays of oxydemeton-methyl at an interval of 15 to 20 days. Granules application was enough to contain the loss in yield due to mustard aphid infestation at reproductive stage of the crop. Mustard aphid is key pest of the crop in the agroclimatic conditions of Jammu plains.
