Field trials were conducted against Meriones hurrianae to determine the efficacy of brodifacoum (0.005%); bromadiolone (0.005%); flocoumafen (0.005%); zinc phosphide (2%) and bromethalin (0.005%). All three second generation anticoagu-lants were highly effective in reducing the animal population (93.2% to 98.7%) and that there was not any significant difference between the treatments. Efficacy varied in case of acute poison baits after first application which did not differ appreciably after the second treatment. All bait formulations of anticoagulants and acute poisons were highly effective against M. hurrianae.
