Effect of electrodyn formulation (ED) of cypermethrin applied through electro-dyn sprayer was evaluated in comparison with EC formulation of cypermethrin (Cymbush 25 EC) applied through knapsack, mistblower and Heli sprayers for the control of sucking pests and bollworm (Eariaa vittella Fab.) on ‘Hybrid-6’ cotton during 1983–86 at Anand, Gujarat. All cypermethrin treatments were significantly superior to control in reducing the sucking pest population. However no clear cut trend was observed within the treatments as both ED and EC formulations of cypermethrin applied through different sprayers were on par in their efficacy to reduce the sucking pests in cotton. Electrodyn formulations of cypermethrin were more effective in reduc-jng the bollworm damage to squares, bolls and loculi compared to EC formulation. Among different concentrations and rates of ED formulation, cypermethrin 4.5% ED -0.05 mljsec. recorded highest yield of 2091 kg/ha while cypermethrin 100 ppm applied through knapsack sprayer recorded an yield of 1739 kg/ha among conventional sprayers.
