Sex pheromones can be used for monitoring and management of Helicoverpa armigera Hb. populations. Studies with sleeve type pheromone traps indicated that 22 moths/trap/night correspond to 10% damage' to the reproductive parts in cotton by H. armigera. Based on the pheromone trap catches, action for controlling this pest should be initiated when the moth catches exceed 7 moths/trap/night.
