Abstract

Efficacy of four synthetic and botanical insecticides was assessed under field conditions on a tobacco variety, Anand 119, against Myzus persicae (Sulzer) at Nipani, Karnataka, during 1987–89. Methamidoph~ (40 SL) at 0.04 and 0.05% concentration exhibited quick knockdown effect within 24 h after spray application followed by acephate 75 SP (0.08%). Both the products offered protection from aphids up to 20 days. Highest yield increase of 85.63% was recorded in plots sprayed with methamidophos followed by acephate (76.65%)
