Abstract

Phyllody Is an inportant disease of sesamum. Studies were conducted on the effect of antimycoplasma principles (AMPS) from leaf extracts and chemicals on phyllody in sesamum. of the 34 plants sreened for AMPS activity, leaf extracts from Vi/exnegundo var.purpurasence and Sesbania rostrata, kinetin, L-arabinose, and polygalacturonic acid reduced the phyllody incidence by 67.7%. The effect of AMPS and chemicals persisted for a short period only.
