During a survey of soybean crop in kharif 1989 and 1991, the crops sown on different dates exhibited variation in bud blight incidence. In 1989, delay in sowing showed negative and significant correlation with bud blight incidence. No such relationship was observed in 1991. Mean maximum temperature 7 days after sowing was significantly correlated with bud blight incidence.
