Abstract

Over 1000 chickpea germplasm and breeding lines were evaluated for resistance to fusarium wilt and root rots at 20 locations in India over the period 1984–1989. ICC 10384, ICC 10630, and ICCL 81010 were resistant or moderately resistant at all the 13 locations where they were tested and ICC 2644, ICC 11224, ICC 11322, and ICCL 81002 at 12 locations. ICC 6384, ICC 8170, ICC 9127, ICC 10399, ICC 11223, ICC 11329, ICC 12266, ICC 12408, ICCL 81006, ICCL 84327, and ICCL 85311 were resistant or moderately resistant at 12 of the 13 or 14 test locations. Multilocational tests indicated that resistance to wilt and root rots in these lines was stable.
