Abstract

Four insecticides were tested at two concentrations for the control of sorghum shoot bug, Perefpnus maidis Ash- The insecticides were applied at 30, 45, and 60 days after crop emergence with a kapsack sprayer (@ 500 L/ha) Dimethoate 0.03% gave the highest cost-benefit ratio. Higher yields were obtained with demeton-S-methyl (0.05%) and monocrotophos (0.1%). In general all the insecticides were equally effective at higher concentrations.
