Abstract

Efficacy of 10 insecticides (deltaraethrin, cypermethrin, permethrin, fenvalerate, phosphamidon, monocrotophos, quinalphos, dimethoate, malathion, and carbaryi) was assessed against Okra shoot and fruit borer, Earias vitella Fabr. during kharif 19&7 and 1988. On the basis of shoot and fruit infestation and yield, fenvalerate 0.015% was most effective. Monocrotophos 0.04%, phosphamidon 0.03%, and quinalphps 0.03%, malathion 0.10%, and carbaryl 0.10% were least effective in controlling the fruit borer.
