In apple orchards located in Solan and Kullu districts of Himachal Pradesh, 11 miscible mineral spray oils were evaluated against San Jose scale, Quadraspidiotus perniciosus (Comstock) in four field trails. In the first trial, mineral spray oil HP SO 2% was most effective. In the second and third trials, 20 oils were tested at two sites at 3% in addition to HP SO 2%. Bomi Spray Oil-45, Szetol TH, and Tree Care oil M-32, and V-9 were less effective. In the fourth experiment, eight oils were evaluated at 3% along with HP SO at 2% as a standard check. HP-SO and IOC-OSO 3% were the most effective oils for the control of San Jose scale.
