Abstract

Greenhouse and field studies on leaf folder resurgence due to application of three granular insecticides revealed that carbofuran @ 0–5 kg a.i./ha caused resurgence while at 1.0 kg a.i./ha the damage was on par with untreated control. Phorate even at 0.5 kg a.i./ha checked leaf folder incidence in the field studies. Carbofuran has poor inherent toxicity to adults but possessed good larvicidal action, while reverse was true in case of phorate. Cartap was found to be effective against both larvae and adults, and exhibited low damage at 0.25 kg a.i./ha under field conditions.
