The cultural method of management of the redgram stemgall weevil, Alcidodes collaris Pascoe was studied under field conditions from 1987 to 1989 seasons on early redgram variety, DT-7 at Main Research Station, Dharwad, Kamataka. Redgram grown with soybean crop in the ratio of 1:2 minimised the activity of the curculionid (16.15 per cent) in all the three seasons of study consistently on the crop. The earthing up effect had no bearing on the curculionid activity on redgram in all the three seasons of the study. Excepting the soybean, no other mixed crops suppressed the curculionid incidence.
