Evaluation of an egg parasitoid, Trichogramma chilonis Ishii was carried out for three years during 1992–93 to 1994–95 for the control of sugarcane stalk borer, Chilo auricilius Dudgeon at farmers fields in Punjab. The parasitoid when released @ 50, 000 parasitized eggs per hectare during July to October at 10 days interval proved very effective. The mean damage by C. auricilius was 12.8 per cent in release fields as compared to 37.7 per cent in the control.
