Efficacy of Fungicides Against Powdery Mildew (Oidium erysiphoides f. sp. ziziphi) of Ber (Zizyphus mauritiana Lamk)

Abstract

Four fungicide viz., carbendazim wettable sulphur, tridemorph and dinocap were tested in the laboratory for their efficacy in inhibiting spore germination of ber powdery mildew fungus and found that dinocap at 0.096 and 0.048 ga.i. per litre of water recorded highest percentage of inhibition of spore germination 99.2 and 95.5 respectively. The results of two year field experiment indicated that dinocap which gave highest percentage of inhibition of spore germination gave good control (75.9%) of the disease in the field with highest fruit yield per plant followed by tridemorph at 0.075 ga. i. and wettable sulphur at 0.16 g a.i. with 68.8 and 60.7 percentage disease control over check.
