Abstract

Field trials were undertaken to evaluate the efficacy of fungicides against blight of sunflower. Prophylactic application of iprodione 50WP 0.1%, carbendazim 50WP 0.1% and propiconazole 25EC 0.1% was highly effective in reducing the disease intensity and in increasing the yield. However, carbendazim application 0.1% after inoculation of pathogens has proved its superiority in reducing the disease intensity and in increasing the yield over all the other fungicides. The efficacy of iprodione was reduced if applied after inoculation.
