ICAR Adhoc Scheme on Management of Mealybugs in Fruit Crops, AICRP on Pesticide Residues, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500030.
The residual toxicity of insecticides and fungicides to the adult Scymmus coccivora Aiyar, a potential indigenous predator of mealybugs has been established. Chlorothalonil (a fungicide) recorded lowest persistence followed by another fungicide Dithane M-45. The period up to which 50% mortality of S.coccivora under semifield situation was registered to be 21.3 and 20.3 days, respectively with fenvalerate and cypermethrin. Release of S. coccivora adults and spraying of insecticides can not be integrated simultaneously.
