Abstract

An experiment was conducted during 1993 and 1994 to find the effect of foliar application of calcium sulphate, zinc sulphate, potassium chloride, copper sulphate, ferrous sulphate and magnesium sulphate on sheath rot incidence and grain yield of rice at Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. Of the six nutrients applied as foliar spray at 30 and 45 days after transplanting calcium sulphate @ 2% and zinc sulphate @ 1% significantly reduced the disease index with corresponding increase in grain yield. Benefit cost ratio was highest in potassium chloride treatment (108.5) followed by magnesium sulphate (73.22).
