Experiments were conducted to study the effect of natural and factitious hosts on the predatory and oviposition potentials of the mirid bug, Cyrtorhinus lividipennis. Results indicated that early instars and adults preferred brown plant hopper (BPH) eggs to green leaf hopper (GLH)/Corcyra eggs, whereas later instars and adults preferred Corcyra eggs. In general mirids had a lesser preference to GLH eggs and also laid more number of eggs when they were fed with natural hosts.
