Chemical Control of Powdery Mildew of Okra

Abstract

In the field experiments conducted during the rainly season of 1997–98, Topas (penconazole @ 0.1%) sprayed okra plots recorded no incidence of powdery mildew caused by Erysiphe cichoracearum DC and recorded highest fruit yields, but the efficacy was comparable to that of carbendazim (0.1%>. To recommend Topas @ 0.1% as alternative molecule to carbendazim, the economic feasibility of the test molecule has to be found out and the cost effectiveness of the two fungicides need to be worked out.
