Abstract

Three different neem products viz. one granular formulation Neemorate and two spray formulations - Repelin and Neemax were evaluated under field condition during Kharifani Rabi seasons in 1992–93, Rabi 94–95. Neemorate @ 20 kg/ha was found effective in controlling stemborer, gallmidge, whorl maggot and thrips over lower dose (15 kg/ha) and obtained more grain yield (4.7 t/ha). In case of untreated control the grain yield was 3.3 t/ha due to damage of different pests. Spray formulations were slightly superior when sprayed alone compared to control in minimising the insect pests but in combination with chlorpyriphos 20 EC @ 0.05% the effectiveness was increased. Possibilities of exploring the usage of different neem products in rice-rice system are discussed.
