Screenhouse studies and field experiments were conducted on integrated disease management of seedling diseases of okra caused by Rhizoctonia solani Khun and Pythium aphanidermatum (Edson) Fitzp. by using a combination of varietal resistance, chemical and biological means of control. Seed treatment with carbendazim followed by soil application of Trichoderma viride Pers was proved effective as disease incidences recorded were 5 and 18.33 per cent in Varsha Upahaar and Pusa Sawani varieties, as compared to 45 and 62 per cent incidences observed in control, respectively. Seed treatment with carboxin along with soil application of T.viride was also proved effective as disease incidences of 8.33 per cent in “Varsha Upahaar’ and 21 per cent in ‘Pusa Sawani’ were recorded. Sowing of carbendazim treated seeds of moderately resistant variety (Varsha Upahaar) along with the application of biomass of T.viride in soil before sowing was proved to be an ideal combination in combating seedling diseases of okra.
