A peculiar non-pathogenic wilt has become a serious threat to cotton cultivation especially on hybrids. The results of the present study indicated the disease as a physiological disorder which developed under water stress or excessive rains. As a result of wilt the unutilized nutrients were left in soil and leaf nutrient level and evapotranspiration were reduced. Application of 3 1 solution containing nitrogen and phosphorus @ 0.5% each within 12 hours of wilt initiation relieved plant from stress conditions and inturn from wilt. After recovery from wilt the plant nutrient level and fibre quality tend to reach normalcy.
