Bioefficacy and Economics of Different Pesticides Against Anar Butterfly, Deudorix isocrates (Fabricious) (Lycaenidae: Lepi-doptera) Infesting Aonla

Abstract

Experiments were carried out on bioefficacy of different pesticides against anar butterfly, Deudorix isocrates (Fabricious)(Lycaenidae:Lepidoptera) infesting aonla at the Main Experiment Station, N.D. University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad during consecutive years 1995–96 and 1996–97. Economics of each treatment was also worked out. All the treatments tested significantly reduced the fruit damage. Bagging of fruits with muslin cloth proved most effective, gave total protection from the pest and produced more shining green and attractive fruits. Monocrotophos 0.05% was next most effective and economical followed by endosulfan 0.07%.
