Effectiveness of different treatments with imidacloprid 200 SL were evaluated against leaf folder (Cnaphalocrosis medinalis Guenee) and stem borer (Scirpophaga incertulas Walker) incidence in rice. Sprouted seed soaking at 0.05% for 3hr before sowing offered good protection against leaf folder than other treatments. Foliar application five days before pulling @ 25 g a.i./ha was found effective up to 30 DAT (days after transplantation) in reducing stem borer incidence. Soil application @ 37.5 g a.i./ha 10 days before pulling increased the incidence of stem borer at both 30 and 40 DAT. Foliar spray at higher concentration (37.5 g a.i./ha) recorded much higher population of stem borer.
