Abstract

Diflubenzuron reduced the gonadal weight in Helicoverpa armigera (Hub.) when applied at 6.25, 25.0 and 31.25 ppm to the first -, second-, and third- instar larvae, the reduction being 8.97 to 11.23 per cent in testes and 9.55 to 12.64 per cent in ovaries. Diflubenzuron also affected the fecundity and fertility, resutling in 21 to 58 per cent sterility in the pest.
