Abstract

Rust of sunflower (Puccinia helianthi Schw.) is a widespread disease in India and known to adversely affect the yield. Epidemics of rust were studied during late Kharif 1998–1999 and 1999–2000 at the Regional Research Station, Raichur. Two mathematical models were used in rust disease prediction viz., (i) first order auto regression model and (ii) logistic model. Logistic model was found to be more appropriate in explaining epidemics compared to auto regression model.
