An experiment was conducted to know the effect of sowing dates and weather factors on the incidence of rust of sunflower. The results indicated that during both years of investigation (1998–99 and 1999–2000), the highest incidence of rust was observed in crop sown on first and second fortnight of September. Negative correlation between rust, mean maximum temperature (−0.90 both years) and mean minimum temperatures (−0.35 and - 0.06) respectively for two years) was observed. While the rust recorded a positive corelation with rainfall (0.36 and 0.69 respectively for two years) and relative humidity.
