Abstract

Experiments were conducted at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Anakapalle during 2002–2004 to evaluate sugarcane genotypes for resistance to early shoot borer, internode borer and scale insect. The genotype 2000 A 62 was found promising by recording significantly less incidence of early shoot borer (15.9%), while 2000 A 225 against internode borer (1.8% intensity). The genotype 2000 A 133 recorded least intensity of scale insect and weight of scale encrustation. Genotype 2000 A 113 registered significantly high sucrose (18.4%) and genotype 2000 A 226 registered higher cane yield of 91.9 t/ha.
