Abstract

Greenhouse studies to explore the possibility of utilizing imidacloprid as a granular formulation against rice brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens (Stal) revealed that imidacloprid granules @ 200 and 400 g a.i./ha were on par with imidacloprid spray @ 25 g a.i. /ha and carbofuran granules @ 2000g a.i. /g ha, respectively. However, quick knockdown mortality was realized with imidacloprid spray @ 25 g a.i. /ha. Present results suggest that imidacloprid granules @ 200 g a.i. /ha can be evaluated under field conditions in BPH endemic areas.
