Abstract

Field studies were conducted at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Lam to study the influence of different seed rates viz., 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 Kg/ha on leaf curl disease caused by Peanut bud necrosis virus (PBNV) and thrips population in blackgram during Kharif and Rabi, 2003. Incidence of leaf curl disease and vector population was significantly influenced by different seed rates in both seasons. High seed rates (30 and 25 Kg/ha) led to reduced incidence of leaf curl disease and thrips populations, and more yields as compared to low and recommended (10 and 15 kg/ha) seed rates in both seasons studied. Incidence of leaf curl disease and vector population was significantly influenced by different seed rates in both the seasons.
