Abstract

Effect of solar energy vis-à-vis colour of the storage bag was evaluated to determine their effect on adult emergence (Sitophilus oryzae), adult mortality, grain damage, weight loss, and seed germination (wheat). The exposure of infested wheat for a period of 24 h to solar heat energy in black and blue coloured bags was most effective to reduce infestation and adult emergence and to cause adult mortality of S. oryzae.
