A field experiment on evaluation of some inorganic insecticides and botanicals was conducted to control the vector (Bemesia tabaci Gen.) and minimize the disease incidence in mesta. Seven insecticides viz., thiamethoxam @ 0.2g/L, imidacloprid @ 0.2ml/L, acetamiprid 0.2g/L, monocrotophos @ 1.6ml/L, carbosulfan @ 2ml/L, triazophos@ 2ml/L and neem oil @ 5ml/L and untreated check were tested to control the whitefly (Bemesia tabaci Gen.) on mesta. Among the tested insecticides, acetamiprid @ 0.2g/l and thiamethoxam @ 0.2g/L were found to be effective recording lowest whitefly population(3.33), disease incidence(3.15%) and highest fibre yield(18.00q/ha) followed by imidacloprid @0.2ml/L, triazophos@ 2ml/L. whereas the untreated control recorded highest whitefly(13.33), disease incidence(12.67%) and lowest fibre yield(9.60 q/ha).
